Snakes…in a carport!

Posted on: May 1, 2007

Said in my best Samuel L. Jackson voice, of course. We have a snake. In the carport. I have now seen him twice. Once going under the laundry room door. Do you think I’m doing any laundry right now??? I think NOT.

I also saw a snake at the zoo Saturday. A real one, in the wild. Seriously, I can’t even deal with the ones behind glass! That is the 3rd time we’ve seen a snake (real, not behind glass) at this zoo. Once was on the kid’s playground which is a little unnerving, to say the least.

Granted, these are just little black snakes. Non-venomous and most likely harmless unless provoked. But I am the unlucky type who would walk into the laundry room without turning on a light and step on it. I did some reading and even though their bite isn’t harmful, it’s very painful. Not something I really want to experience.

In other news, we’re looking for a place at the beach for a week away. My mom is probably coming with us as she really wanted to go to the beach this summer. Since the beach we go to is almost all houses and practically no hotel rooms, she didn’t really want to go on her own and pay the price for a house. Plus she’s a good babysitter! đŸ˜€

Have I mentioned that Colin is definitely saying Mama and Hi? And waving! So cute!!! In fact, I hear him saying Mamamamamama now so that would be my cue to step into the living room and see what he needs!

D is the dad, the husband, and the breadwinner. All around nice guy and good at pretty much everything he does. It's disgusting, really. But makes him worth keeping around.

M is the mom, the wife, and the hopeless housekeeper. At least the kids' heads haven't fallen off yet. Beyond that, she sucks at the "stay at home" thing. Oh, and she's the blogger.

J is the big boy. Born October 11 2002, he is in kindergarten and loves it. Now 6 years old, and too smart for his own good. Talks a lot but extremely entertaining.

C is the little boy. Born June 26, 2006, he went through a lot in his first year but is doing just fine now. The only blond in the family, so his paternity is routinely questioned by rude strangers.

V is our baby girl. She is brand new and arrived in January 2009. So far everything is going well. We're thrilled to have added the final piece to our family puzzle. And yes, she WILL be the final piece!
