The W Family Chronicles

Having fun on tax free weekend.

Posted on: August 5, 2007

We’ve got C outfitted for the next few months, and with a minimum of expenditure thanks to the big sales and absence of tax for the weekend. I can no longer shop for him in the infants section, he has graduated to toddler. Nevermind that he’s technically not a toddler yet! J was harder to shop for…apparently they don’t put fall/winter stuff out until later for big kids. And since we had to venture into the *boys* section for him this year, it left us with little to choose from. He got a few shirts but is otherwise naked going into the fall and winter months. Must remember to remedy that once the fall clothes start to appear…

I am amazed that J will be 5 in October. Where does the time go? I blinked and it all happened! We’re planning a weekend trip to DC for our birthdays this year. Not as exciting as WDW, which was the birthday vacation last year, but still new to him and a fun outing for us as well. We’re going to ride the Amtrak up there on a Friday, arrive around noon (assuming the train is on time), and then check out some museums and the national zoo. Leaving Sunday afternoon for the train ride home. This is all still *very* early in the planning stages but we bought a book yesterday and are making some decisions on where/when/what.

I’ve got an appt with the urologist tomorrow so fingers crossed for some good news there. Tuesday I’m leaving for my mom’s house and I’ll return Friday sometime. I may try to get by here tomorrow with an update from the doctor, but it’s going to be nuts trying to get everything together tomorrow so I may not have time. My mom hasn’t stepped into the 21st century and is still on dial-up, so I won’t be checking in from Knoxville, but if you don’t hear anything about the appt I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about…for nowwe’re just keeping an eye on these things so they don’t cause any more trouble than necessary!

D is the dad, the husband, and the breadwinner. All around nice guy and good at pretty much everything he does. It's disgusting, really. But makes him worth keeping around.

M is the mom, the wife, and the hopeless housekeeper. At least the kids' heads haven't fallen off yet. Beyond that, she sucks at the "stay at home" thing. Oh, and she's the blogger.

J is the big boy. Born October 11 2002, he is in kindergarten and loves it. Now 6 years old, and too smart for his own good. Talks a lot but extremely entertaining.

C is the little boy. Born June 26, 2006, he went through a lot in his first year but is doing just fine now. The only blond in the family, so his paternity is routinely questioned by rude strangers.

V is our baby girl. She is brand new and arrived in January 2009. So far everything is going well. We're thrilled to have added the final piece to our family puzzle. And yes, she WILL be the final piece!
