The W Family Chronicles

Archive for June 2008

I know there’s something weird going on with my blog. Apparently pictures aren’t showing up and there’s some other weirdness. I checked everything and I’m not sure WHY it’s happening, but I’ll try to track it down and straighten it out.

In the meantime, things are going well with the job/work stuff. He’s already gotten several calls, has some contract stuff planned, and he’s also working a lot on getting his business launched. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned the business here, but it’s a technical/industrial consulting firm and could become very lucrative. He hadn’t had a ton of time to work on it and I kind of think this job loss was God’s way of saying that he needed to get busy on it. Maybe…for now, we’re just trying to get everything figured out and keep going forward. We’re thankful for so much of what we have and all of the “important stuff” is still intact so we’re happy about that. We’re all together and we’re all healthy and that’s what really matters in the grand scheme of life!

D just got laid off. For those keeping score, yes, that’s 3 pregnancies and during each one or both of us has been laid off. Ironically, we were talking about this at dinner Friday and we were trying to figure out what we would do. I never thought it would actually happen. (Insert string of very bad words here, because that’s all that’s going through my head right now.)

More than just a 90s TV show…it is what the W family will be in just a few months.  That’s right…we’re expecting baby #3!  We have a confirmed heartbeat as of this afternoon and though it is still early, things look very good.  I definitely have a glow but it’s not the “pregnant and beautiful” kind…it’s more the hot, sweaty, trying not to throw up on you kind.  Still, I’m pretty excited and we expect to welcome this new little bundle sometime in mid-late January.

I wish I had an awesome ultrasound picture to share but it’s not very clear and I’m way too lazy to scan it.  I know you were all dying to see my uterus, but that will have to wait.  As soon as I have a good one, I promise to get it posted.  Until then, stay tuned to this channel for news of the impending arrival, as well as the normal adventures of the W family!

I’m really sorry. We have SO much going on lately and I’m absolutely exhausted. Throw in another round of the alien death flu and it’s a recipe for no blog posting. Sorry…I’m going to try to do better!

W Family Players

D is the dad, the husband, and the breadwinner. All around nice guy and good at pretty much everything he does. It's disgusting, really. But makes him worth keeping around.

M is the mom, the wife, and the hopeless housekeeper. At least the kids' heads haven't fallen off yet. Beyond that, she sucks at the "stay at home" thing. Oh, and she's the blogger.

J is the big boy. Born October 11 2002, he is in kindergarten and loves it. Now 6 years old, and too smart for his own good. Talks a lot but extremely entertaining.

C is the little boy. Born June 26, 2006, he went through a lot in his first year but is doing just fine now. The only blond in the family, so his paternity is routinely questioned by rude strangers.

V is our baby girl. She is brand new and arrived in January 2009. So far everything is going well. We're thrilled to have added the final piece to our family puzzle. And yes, she WILL be the final piece!
