The W Family Chronicles

Since we’ve spent so much time moving around over the past several years, we haven’t put much effort into finding a church.  We enjoyed having Sundays to sleep in or be lazy and it just wasn’t a priority.  Since D’s recent job loss, it suddenly became important to me again.  So we tried one out and it was the perfect fit!  We’ve been going since late August or so and we’ve all really enjoyed it.  I almost feel like the sermons are written just for us every week…it seems like they never fail to tell us something we need to hear.

It’s very contemporary, which I have to admit I like a lot.  No dressing up, lots of good music, and the sermos have an “edge” that you wouldn’t hear in a lot of traditional churches.  The kids love playing and learning about God for an hours, and I love being able to spend an hour with my husband once a week without interruption or distraction.  Since we can’t afford date nights right now, this is a good substitute.

If you’re curious, it’s Brickcity Community Church.  If any of you come visit on a weekend, we’d love for you to join us!

Today we scheduled Baby V’s arrival date!  She’s going to be born on Tuesday January 20, 2009.  That is just 67 days away.  I am trying to pretend that is a looooooooooong way away but failing miserably.

My appointment otherwise went pretty well.  My blood pressure is up a little bit, but that may have been some minor anxiety or the result of my poor sleeping lately.  I was prescribed a sleep aid to try and see if that would at least give me 5-6 hours without interruption.  I’m not having a lot of trouble falling asleep, but I am waking up in the wee hours and unable to fall back to sleep.  So I’ve been getting up to 6 hours, but not in a row!  It’s making for a pretty exhausted mommy and doesn’t help my stress levels.  I also had blood in my urine which indicates another kidney stone somewhere.  I’ve actually passed quite a few over the last couple of months with minimal pain, so this is (right now) not a big deal.  Hopefully this one follows the same pattern as all of the others I’ve had recently!

Beyond that everything is on track.  I’m going to update the ticker to show how far along I am, but also count down the days until her birth.  Since she’ll be born slightly before her actual due date it’s not quite accurate right now.  I’m just so glad I have a date to look forward to already.  That is one major advantage of a planned c-section…as much as I’d like the chance to try for a more natural birth, it is appealing to choose a date at this stage!

W Family Players

D is the dad, the husband, and the breadwinner. All around nice guy and good at pretty much everything he does. It's disgusting, really. But makes him worth keeping around.

M is the mom, the wife, and the hopeless housekeeper. At least the kids' heads haven't fallen off yet. Beyond that, she sucks at the "stay at home" thing. Oh, and she's the blogger.

J is the big boy. Born October 11 2002, he is in kindergarten and loves it. Now 6 years old, and too smart for his own good. Talks a lot but extremely entertaining.

C is the little boy. Born June 26, 2006, he went through a lot in his first year but is doing just fine now. The only blond in the family, so his paternity is routinely questioned by rude strangers.

V is our baby girl. She is brand new and arrived in January 2009. So far everything is going well. We're thrilled to have added the final piece to our family puzzle. And yes, she WILL be the final piece!
